Herdis Pala is an exceptional HR leader and proved during our six years together at RB to be a very valuable member of the executive management team. Herdis is a very self-motivated individual who restlessly pushes herself to acquire new expertise and knowledge which she generously shares with her team and the rest of the executive management. As a CEO I found it personally very useful to sit down with her to pick her brains on how to tackle both particle and strategic decisions. Her guidance was always useful and her insightful critique made me a better leader. Herdis‘ team played an important part in improving the corporate culture at RB, with significant improvements seen in commitment to continuous change, resilience and personal improvements. Thanks to changes she instigated at RB the company became a much more open and an attractive place to work. I give Herdis my highest recommendation. She is an exceptional HR and change leader and a significant asset for any executive leadership team.

I had the pleasure to get to know and work with Herdís Pála during my stay at RB as Director of Development and Strategy. It came quickly clear to me that she was well respected and trusted by the management, on top of things and always looking for new ways to improve the culture and ways of working. Herdís Pála is unafraid of tackling the difficult, change what is needed and I felt I had great support from her as the head of HR. We had quite a few great conversations on the future of work, future of organizations, changing culture and strategy. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Herdís Pála, discussing new ideas and solutions and I feel learned a lot from her. RB is lucky to have her as VP of HR as would any other company.

Herdis Pala er an exceptionally professional, creative and solution minded person. We worked together establishing Flora - Icelandic Association of HR managers, where Herdis Pala took initiative to establish the first annual HR managers summit in Iceland, Mannaudsdagurinn, which is still the largest annual HR event in Iceland.

In my own business, which I have for many years either run along with my corporate work or solely, like now, I mainly do Management Consulting, Executive Coaching, Corporate Training, Lecturing, Speaking at conferences, writing books and articles, and more. As a speaker and a trainer, I have for the last few years given 25 - 60 presentations, lectures and workshops a year. I have also done quite a lot of executive coaching, both for top-level managers and teams, as well as teaching in two universities in Iceland. So the numbers of presentations, lectures, and workshops I have given are in the hundreds. Most of my presentations and lectures are for various organizations - on various aspects of Leadership, with the goal of the organizations and the individuals that work there to Succeed together. Also Self-Leadership, Energy Management over Time Management, various HR topics, and more.

When I joined the company, as head of HR, it had recently gone through merger of two savings banks. In a short period of time we acquired two other savings banks, so there were many challenges, a lot of change management and OD. My role changed into being the COO of the company. As the COO I headed a unit of 25 people, working in 5 different departments. The responsibilities were Human Resources, IT, Business Analytics, Project Management (Marketing, Quality and more) and Operations (Facilities Management, Procurement, Reception, Canteen and more).
