Jun 2023 - Present
I am pleased to lead the continuing evolution of Access Accelerated, a collective effort of the biopharmaceutical and life science industry to pool our resources and work in collaboration with external partners towards a common vision of improved access to #NCD care. Access Accelerated has made unprecedented strides over the past six years, evidenced in our recently published report, "Key lessons in advancing NCD care: Collaboration, Connectivity, Community." Just last year, Access Accelerated supported more than 50 projects in over 30 countries that helped to screen 11 million people and provided life-changing NCD treatment to 3.5 million people - a 1140% increase over the previous year. Collectively, our reach has extended to 700 million people, through training, treatment, and policy shaping. But the most significant impact of our work is the catalytic role that Access Accelerated has played in increasing funding for NCDs. From 2020 to 2022, our initiatives stimulated an additional investment of 3.7 billion USD in NCDs. This remarkable impact underscores the central role of Access Accelerated in unlocking critical investments for NCDs and to the achievement of Universal Health Coverage – a cornerstone of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Independent consultant/senior advisor: global health, healthcare, healthy aging, sustainability/ESG
-
Jan 2020 - Present
In January 2020 I founded InnAxx Consulting: https://www.innaxxconsulting.com I am pleased to be working with a select group of start-up companies, NGOs, multinational organizations and academic professionals that are bringing truly innovative approaches to improving global health, healthcare delivery, healthy aging and sustainability/ESG. My primary focus is to accelerate human-centric approaches to health and healthcare, new data and technology-based solutions, novel business and financing models, and pragmatic government/regulatory policies that will improve health outcomes for patients suffering from chronic/non-communicable diseases like cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and chronic respiratory illnesses. These diseases represent the world’s leading cause of mortality and disability, and a massive (and growing) economic burden for all countries. Show less

Stanford-certified "Designing Your Life" coach
-
Jun 2020 - Present
I am fortunate to have been a student of Bill Burnett and Dave Evans, who have successfully taught students at Stanford University and readers of their best-selling book, "Designing Your Life" - that designers don’t analyze, worry, think, or complain; they build their way forward. Now more than ever, we need creative and adaptable tools to cope with the chaos caused by the aftermath of COVID-19. In "Designing Your New Work Life," Burnett and Evans show how design thinking can transform present jobs, and how it can improve experiences of work in times of disruption. Burnett and Evans offer a new concept that makes use of the designer mindsets: Curiosity, Reframing, Radical collaboration, Awareness, Bias to action, and Storytelling. They provide tools, tips, and design ideas for how people can make new possibilities available even when lives have been disrupted, how to enjoy the present moment and how to prototype possible futures. Stanford DCI Fellow
-
Sep 2018 - Dec 2019
I thoroughly enjoyed a 16-month fellowship at Stanford's Distinguished Careers Institute (DCI) in Palo Alto, starting in September 2018 and ending in December 2019. The primary focus of my fellowship was on developing new approaches and technologies to enable innovative healthcare delivery models and NCD/chronic disease management initiatives. I worked to identify new solutions and make contacts that bring together (a) experiences in the academic setting including innovation projects underway at Stanford, (b) new technology and data platforms under development in Bay Area companies and global NGOs, and (c) thought leaders around the world who are actively piloting innovative approaches to global health and healthcare delivery. I am proud to have launched a new Stanford Global NCD Innovation Initiative (NCDi), with support from a variety of Stanford centers and professors as well as external partners. I continue to serve as an Ambassador for the Nexel Collaborative, a global alliance of colleges and universities, co-founded by Stanford DCI, with a vision for the future of higher education including midlife transition programs.
