I am deeply honoured by this meaningful appointment at a pivotal moment for ILGA Asia and the wider struggle of queer communities across the Asia Pacific navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic. I have always envisioned ILGA Asia as a leading regional LGBTIQ organisation, centering and amplifying the voices of community members we serve. Together with the impressive team, I take pride and look forward to exploring these aspirations to ensure members’ needs and solutions are at the very forefront of our work, guided by a dedicated and strong regional board, whose guidance is instrumental to achieving ILGA Asia’s mission. With that, I invite folks, especially our members to get to know me and learn more about what we do here: https://www.ilgaasia.org/.../new-executive-director-henry... | https://fb.watch/7cxnHraEen/ Show less

• Coordinate with team members to develop, implement and support the sub-granting of the “CHALLENGE Project,” overseen by the organization’s Communications & Information Policy Programme. The project team is supervised by our Asia Policy Regional Coordinator. • The “CHALLENGE Project: Challenging hate narratives and violations of freedom of religion and expression online in Asia" is funded by the European Instrument For Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR). It seeks to protect and promote respect for freedom of religion, belief, and expression on the internet, particularly by countering hate speech online on the basis of religion and generating narratives and discourse that defend secular and diverse opinions touching upon religion. • This three-year project will focus on five countries in South and Southeast Asia: Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Pakistan, characterized by the presence of majority religious communities and challenges for secularists and minorities. • A summary of the project explaining all its components can be found here: https://www.apc.org/en/project/challenge Show less
