Instead of completing a dissertation in my final year I worked on a management consultancy project. The task was to create a report looking into the future of the retail industry. My focus within the team included researching augmented reality, the internet of things and consumer experience. However, my main role was in the production and design of the report, helping improve my skills on Microsoft office. For one of my final year modules I chose to do "Management Project in Community Organisations." For this module I was placed in a team to work with Go Volunteer in the Newcastle University Students Union. Our goal was to research the area of overseas volunteering, to create a booklet for Go Volunteer to guide students with. My focus was on the ethics of both volunteering as well as the ethics of the research itself. My biggest achievement was delivering the final 20 minute presentation to the Go Volunteer team showing the work we had carried out as well as the final booklet itself. Show less
