Traineeship at the Global Trends Unit of the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS). The Global Trends Unit assists EU decision-makers by using foresight tools to present objective and accessible analysis of changes in long-term trends creating challenges for the EU. As part of the Global Trends Unit, I led a team of 15 in organising the Parliament day of the ESPAS Conference, the EPRS' annual flagship event. The conference featured 50 high-level officials and foresight practitioners and over 400 attendees. I also conducted research, analysis and drafting of short vignette-style articles for the Global Trendometer 2019, the Global Trends Unit’s signature foresight publication for Members of Parliament. I worked in the office of Luke Pollard, Member of the British Parliament for Plymouth, Sutton and Devonport constituency. As part of the parliamentary team I drafted and proof-read speeches, press releases and articles on the MP's behalf. Furthermore, I helped manage a busy diary, dealt with correspondence with constituents and stakeholders, and assisted with a constant stream of constituency casework . Finally, I helped organise a launch event at the Parliament for the MP's 'Plymouth National Marine Park' campaign. Show less
