Marketing Coordinator
-
Jun 2017 - Mar 2018
The role involved co-ordinating a seasonal marketing campaign for an Edinburgh based hospitality company whose brands include: Steak Restaurant, Steak Brasserie, Twelve Picardy Place hotel and Beer&Skittles bar. Having taken on a part-time front of house role in the restaurant during my Masters studies I was offered the opportunity to take on the responsibility of the group’s winter campaign. This involved conception, design and implementation of a social media and wider reaching marketing campaign which required a different approach for each brand, sales generation through direct customer communication and competitor marketing strategy analysis with the performance measured against a pre-determined targeted number of bookings.

Marketing Volunteer

Jul 2016 - Aug 2016
This involved undertaking a volunteering role at a NGO focusing on education in an impoverished area of northern Brazil. Prior to my arrival there was no formalised marketing department which came with inherent challenges. By developing and implementing a structured strategy I increased the awareness of the organisation by 35% through traditional means and social media. The role was wide ranging and also involved representing the organisation at PR engagements such as radio interviews and local events. Prior to my departure, I was able to leave the organisation’s board with a number of recommendations based on the marketing strategy devised.

Marketing Intern - Department: National and International Market Cultivation

Feb 2015 - May 2015
This role involved implementation of the city’s marketing strategy through networking and engagement with key partners to ensure a concurrent image of the destination. In particular this required; the organisation and execution of familiarisation excursions with key influencers, representing the city as a main contact for stakeholders and customer enquiries, creating and revising press materials and supporting database marketing. Based on my experience representing my university (as below) I was asked to represent the city at the ITB Fair in Berlin. This involved co-ordination of the various exhibitions from Dresden at the fair in accordance with the wider Saxony region’s marketing strategy.
