  I feel like a natural born Head of Growth, because I'm able to use all of my strengths and prior experience in this position. Being both creative and analytic and a full stack marketer, I'm able to effectively plan and run growth experiments and then systematise and optimise things that work. I'm also a member of the Management Team.

  As a Head of Marketing and a member of the Management Team I work where the magic happens: in the intersection of marketing, product management and sales the company's vision of the added value gets tested in the real life. Due to prior history, I'm also responsible of IPR planning and strategy.

  As a Business Development Director and a member of the Management Team, I ended up having a bit unusual combination of responsibilities: Marketing, IPR and UX design. I designed our first mobile app from scratch (including product mangement and UI&UX design), planned and executed a new IPR strategy for Safera resulting a strong international IPR portfolio, and run our marketing campaigns including a crowdfunding campaign in US.

  I lead Safera from an idea to the #1 company in its' field. During my CEO term the turnover grew each year reaching 4,7 MEUR and approximately 90 % was generated from international sales. The highest growth was during 2014-2015 when we nearly tripled our revenue. The personnel grew from five founders to 17 full-time employees. At the end of my CEO term the company had a strong financial position.

  I co-founded Mendor with Kristian Ranta, Jukka Planman, Tuomas Planman and Juho Konsti in 2006. Mendor is committed to providing better solutions for the daily treatment of diabetes. I was responsible of user centered design at Mendor when we created the world’s first integrated blood glucose meter for active people with type 1 diabetes. The goal was to deeply understand the user needs, so we conducted a qualitative user study using various methods, including design probes and experience prototyping. The product was focused on solving one of the main problems people with diabetes are facing every day – measuring blood glucose with traditional meters drew unnecessary attention in public places.Especially in the beginning I also contributed to Mendor’s business planning and strategy and later helped to develop a new type of self-treatment software for diabetics.



Next Icon Oy

  I co-founded Next Icon Oy with Sampo Rantakokko, Mikko Reinikainen, Mikko Karppinen and Aleksi Murtomäki. I was responsible of user centered design and I also participated in sales and business planning. Later I was also appointed as Chairman of the Board. The customer projects were very interesting for a small company, for example the first electronic voting booth for Ministry of Justice, a Birthing Support equipment Relaxbirth and educational videos for Roche and Abbott. I co-founded Next Icon Oy with Sampo Rantakokko, Mikko Reinikainen, Mikko Karppinen and Aleksi Murtomäki. Planmeca Oy

  During my studies at Helsinki University of Art and Design I was working at Planmeca Oy's research department as an industrial designer from 2001 to 2006. Planmeca was a great place to work because also junior designers got a lot of responsibility. For example, I designed the first graphic user interface for Planmeca's flagship dental care unit Sovereign and I also conducted various user studies with dentists.Planmeca was an important milestone for me professionally also because there I met Sampo Rantakokko and we ended up co-founding Next Icon Oy and Safera Oy together.
