In the almost 2 years I managed Gena, he worked hard to grow QA from essentially non-existing to established processes around capturing, investigating and prioritizing defects, plus hiring, managing and growing a team of testers (most of them Juniors) while at the same time introducing more automated testing on various levels. He was also responsible for Quality aspects of all stages of projects from the specifications phase to rollout and maintenance, and pushed for changes in the existing Scrum process that were successfully implemented. During his time, the Engineering team grew to 25 members, including remote contributors, all in a combination of very complex application domain (that he grew familiar with) involving both modern SaaS services as well as complex legacy components.
