After I left Capitec Bank, I helped to start up The Pretty Great Little Agency: http://www.pgla.co.za/ As a two-man show, we were actively developing business and brand strategy, creating brand identity, managing external professionals, setting up of policies and procedures, generating business, consulting clients, managing of budget and just about every other challenge that comes with a startup.After that, I helped Dr. Jan Nel to create a new brand for himself: http://www.drjannel.com/ This involved development of brand strategy, brand identity and management of external suppliers. Station House was my next project: http://www.stationhouse.co.za/ This is a brand new guest house that offered me a clean slate. I built the website, set up their social media and online booking profiles on websites like Booking.com, AirBnB, TravelGround and NightsBridge. Since then we've done a Facebook campaign to kick-start their page and later did a successful Facebook and Instagram competition to create awareness over the summer holidays.I am currently working on the website and design for Beviss-Challinor Attorneys, a startup firm in Somerset West: www.bclegal.co.za Show less

In 2010, my 80 year old grandmother told me that she never knew her father. She was told he passed away when she was an infant. Her mother also passed away when my gran was just 15 years old, resulting in lost family connections and many questions left unanswered. I then made it my mission to find everything I can on her family, not only for her, but all of us.Since then, I have been privileged enough to reconnect my gran with cousins she last saw as a child, share a wealth of information about our family with her and show my grandmother a photo of her father that I found in the State Archives of Belgium: http://bit.ly/2Tcw0kn She effectively saw her father for the first time at the age of 85. I also found that her father had two sons. We were able to track down the family of the one deceased half-brother and enjoy regular contact with them. We're still searching for the other one!This journey has been one of the most authentic experiences of my life, during which I have developed a passion for anything related to genealogy and a sincere desire to help others. I have had the honour of helping people from all over the world with their South African ancestry and beyond. Show less
