This role required me to play an active part in the development of the product range. I attended various marketing related events to promote the software. Main experience is with C/C++, with strong emphasis on object orientated design and development. As part of this product, an integration was done with the Eclipse framework (Java). Have written code ranging from embedded devices, device drivers to high-level abstract code. Have also been closely involved with the design and implementation of an optimized multi-processor operating system targeting a network of processors. Responsible for the development of a number of custom solutions for companies such as De Beers, Wavecom, Denel, Kentron. I developed software solutions including high-performance Windows based graphics applications, Machine control systems, Database work, Low-level communications layers, Distributed system for the calculation of image FFTs. (Windows, GUI, Direct-X, DDK, MFC, ATL, COM, Dlls, Services, Sockets, C+ +, C, asm) Control software: I have developed several machine control software for custom applications, mostly for De Beers. The software had to be very reliable, since the operation of the machines directly depended on it. The software was developed using C++. Simulation software: Was involved in the design and implementation of a flight-simulator which allowed training personnel to perform simulated flights using the actual hardware they use to control a remotely piloted plane. The software was developed using C++. Graphics: A development included a direct-X viewer used to display the XRays taken as part of the security measures at a de Beers. The system allowed authorised personnel to examine mine personnel to ensure that they are not carrying any diamonds on their person. Other parts of the system included a database for storing images and other system-related data. The software was developed using C++. Involved with the development of solutions that are used to analyse radio transmission data. The project involved various tools and displays to facilitate the data analysis.
