I was so fortunate to have Hemali Saurman in my department when I was the Head of MIS Research at Moody’s. Hemali is very talented and I repeatedly enlisted Hemali to lead strategic initiatives to advance the MIS research strategy and technology at Moody’s. I chose Hemali for the strategic work because of her insight into the business and her ability to develop innovative and practical solutions to address business needs or problems. Hemali’s standards are high and her work product is of the highest quality and integrity. I knew that I could rely on Hemali to deliver excellent results in a timely manner. Hemali has a unique ability to drive a vision to successful execution. Hemali sees the big picture and at the same time has a complete grasp of the details of the underlying technologies and business processes. This combination of skills allows Hemali to lead and deliver in a very efficient and effective manner. Hemali has been a driving force for the implementation of new processes and technologies for MIS research publishing and distribution. Hemali is a gifted presenter. She is always very well prepared and delivers a concise, clear and persuasive message. I have seen Hemali present to large groups, senior forums, and to small groups and noted that she is especially effective at adapting her communication approach to the various audience types. I would be pleased to provide further comments and I may be reached on feldhusenj@gmail.com.

I have known Hemali for six years. We have built some incredible products together. She has been a great partner to me in changing Moody's for the better and furthering the quality of the products our Analysts use. She has the right eye for detail and also has vision. It's a great combo for the world of tech. She always fights for the right answer but also knows how to get things done which works great in agile world. I have seen her grow tremendously in the time I've known her and think she has the ability to drive greatness in her team and everyone around her.

I resigned from my role at Moody's to hike the Pacific crest trail. It was a difficult decision and I miss working with talented and fun people. However, I am glad I made this decision because I immensely enjoyed this physical, mental and logistical challenge. I hiked 1700 miles of the Pacific crest trail and summited various peaks such as Mt. Whitney, San Jacinto, Baden Powell, etc. My husband and I evacuated from the trail when the McKinney fire started. At the same time, my father passed away unexpectedly so we made the decision to end the hike and head to India. After a couple of months in India, we are now taking a career break to travel and explore. Show less
