I am an experienced environmental scientist and project manager. I have a Cand. scient. degree in physiology, and have been working with environmental projects at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute since 2007, specializing in projects restoring aquatic ecosystems after the introduction of invasive species, i.e. species introduced outside their native range. I have extensive experience in project management, mostly from eradication of the freshwater salmon parasite Gyrodactylus salaris on behalf of the Norwegian Environment Agency. Experiences include project manager for one of the world’s largest rotenone treatment in the Vefsna region in 2012. Eradications of invasive freshwater fish like roach, pike, common whitefish and minnow have successfully been conducted under my lead. Use of the piscicide CFT-Legumine (rotenone) is central. Measurements are taken to preserve and reintroduce local fish stocks again. Through my role as a project manager I have acquired skills in large scale field operations, leading and managing people, budget and asset management, procurement of equipment, PPE and training, and management and use of operational equipment (boats, pumps, depots, etc.). Research, reports and communication are important parts of my daily work, including method development, presentations, publishing of scientific papers and reports, interviews and media management.
