      Positioning myself as a Creative Partner to founder-managed or family-run businesses, I thrive on supporting the success of others through creative problem solving. My work includes developing engaging brand identities as well as designing award winning packaging, and effective digital solutions. I am confident delivering projects from initial conception through to final artwork, be that setting up print ready files or working with developers. Recent wins include new designs for both core range and Christmas packaging for the independent preserves company Galloway Lodge, which have proved so successful the products are now being stocked in Sainsbury's stores across Scotland.

      During this 12 year period, I worked closely with Gibsons, on brand and product development. Many of these products have been highly acclaimed; a recent release was an Amazon no. 1 bestseller, many of the Little Gibsons products are recommended by Dr. Gummers Good Play Guide, and several Gibsons jigsaws have been shortlisted for Gift of the Year awards, including a win for Rainbow Heroes, which was released during the Covid Pandemic to support the work of The Samaritans Charity. In 2020, I was nominated by Gibsons, and subsequently recognised, in The Mojo Nation 100, as one of the most influential figures working in the world of toy and game design.

      Agency Core was project management software designed to make running a creative business easier and more streamlined. As a small business my roles as a co-founder included design, (UI, graphic design and branding), as well as being the primary customer support contact. We helped over 500 agencies all over the UK deliver more than 6,000 projects. Unfortunately, despite a positive response and excellent user engagement, it was an extremely competitive landscape and we struggled to raise enough investment to move forward fast enough. We made the decision to close the business in early 2019.

      My initial role within IP Asset was to re-asses their brand identity and core message. This re-design was then rolled out across a new website and all forms of marketing materials all of which I have designed, written the copy for and (where applicable) arranged / managed the printing. Having started my career in large international design agencies, working with well known brands such as Mars, Kraft and Unilever, I soon realised that what I really wanted to do was have a more hands on approach with smaller businesses. Thus Yumi Creative - YU (you) and MI (me) - was born with the aim of helping companies create and develop strong brand identities, or re-asses their core values and brand message.
