QLeave has 400,000 members, pays $130M p.a.in portable long service leave claims, collects $100M in levies and manages over $1.3Bn in funds. Key responsibilities were introducing the first new portable long service leave scheme in 15 years, increasing the organisation’s risk maturity, replacing core systems, and creating a culture of legislative compliance while providing customer service that delights. Achievements:- Reduced cost to serve to lowest level relative to peers (49% less than next lowest), as part of program to achieve target funding ratio. - Built capability of management team to deliver new portable long service leave scheme, registering 70,000 members within first 6 months, 7 times the level achieved for previous 2 schemes.- Delivered cultural change in contact centre, reducing unplanned absences from 68% to 7% within 5 months.- Negotiated $100M working capital loan with Queensland Treasury during COVID-driven investment downturn, due to solvency concerns.- Developed targeted approach to compliance activities, increasing levies by $22M over 2 years.- Worked with Chairs of QLeave's 3 representative boards to align approach to risk management, investment strategy and assurance.
