  My job title was UK Engineering, Dye and Chemical Buyer. Within those groups, I was in charge of procuring all the raw materials, precision components and maintaining equipment, dealing with European and International suppliers. The role involved identifying the business needs, surveying markets and potential suppliers, gathering information on availability, quality and price. Challenging suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring delivery was my main focus. I was a key part in the Capital Projects team, where I sourced all detailed components, working from Bill of Materials for our European and Indian site. This also involved arranging contractors, sourcing raw materials and price negotiation. My other role was Stock Analysis using MRPs and KPIs. Liaising with both customer and supplier, I would identify areas for improvement to increase efficiency to maintain a consistent, reliable, cost effective production flow. This would include evaluating current stock levels, incorporating consignments and negotiating call offs.
