Senior Systems Engineer

Converting user needs into design inputs, then into products requires a balanced blend of customer service, product management, and technical knowledge. In my role as Sr. System Engineer, I work to understand customer needs throughout the product development stage gate process. At the front of the process, I compile user needs, draw up statements of work, quote designs, and communicate all requirements to a team. At the back end, I support verification and validation activities and guide the project team to be successful. I also act as a supervisor to another engineer who supports projects through the product development cycle. In addition, I often support continuous improvement efforts and company strategic projects. System Engineer

Dec 2020 - Jan 2023
Converting user needs, to design inputs, to product requires a good blend of customer interaction, product management, and technical knowledge. In my role as System Engineer, I can translate those customer needs by understanding their goals while seeing a project through to succesful completion. Currently, I split my time equally between system engineering and magnetics application support. This gives me the advantage to continue to learn and grow my knowledge of magnets and mechanics while also being exposed to the wide range of industries and products Dexter supports. Show less

NIU-EEP (Enhancing Engineering Pathways) was a program geared towards engineering for women, I not only attended but ended up becoming a mentor to younger girls after completing the program. My job included directing activities and building upon the girls' knowledge of engineering while acting as a role model and resource.
