Working with a fabulous team at Howdens Kendal Depot. The role included generating sales leads, developing excellent relationships with new and existing customers, using sales techniques to generate business and encourage new leads. Working out in the field to identify potential new business. It was a wonderful challenge learning the nuances about joinery products and kitchen design. Although this role deviated from my career path within the voluntary sector, it gave me the ability to work around my daughter's childcare needs and was also very enjoyable. Show less

As Head of Fundraising for Variety Club Children’s Charity I was responsible for strategically maximizing income generated through this multi-function Fundraising Dept. Delivering and implementing fundraising strategies to the Board of Trustees. Managing and growing the organization’s revenue streams by actively scoping new business while sustaining existing donor streams through effective stewardship. As an affective and motivating line manager we worked as a team to increase net income from less than £1 million per annum to over £2.6 million within just two years. My IT and analytical skills led to an overview of the charity’s data capture procedure. I was involved in project managing the introduction of a new database and data input procedure from proposal to implementation. Having studied Relational Databases as part of my degree I have a sound understanding of the functionality and structure of the relational database and how best to utilize its potential. Creating brand awareness. Rolling out a branding guide to all regions and Trustees to ensure that all marketing material was standardized. Implementing a new, more effective website with online shopping capabilities. Show less
