The Y Social Impact Center, formerly Accelerator YMCA and Nexus Youth and Families, is the social services division of the YMCA of Greater Seattle. For over 48 years, we have specialized in serving youth and young adults who have experienced trauma such as homelessness, foster care, exploitation, systemic poverty, and racism. Our approach addresses the whole person by offering a wide array of services in the following areas: housing, behavioral health, education, employment, and violence intervention and prevention. As the LifeSet Program Director, I direct program development, operations and delivery of assigned program area(s) to the membership and community. LifeSet is an individualized, evidence-informed, clinically based program designed to empower young people on their journey from foster care to adulthood. LifeSet pairs a highly-trained specialist with each young person to help identify goals and execute the right interventions to reach them. Specialists stabilize even the toughest situations and help young people obtain healthy relationships, safe housing, education and employment.
