As part of the Mayor’s Action Plan on Neighborhood Safety (MAP) we serve older adults, kinship caregivers and youth that reside in New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) developments citywide to bring intergenerational programming to multi-generational families. These undeserved communities are in high-risk areas of crime, ravaged with crime, violence, poverty and disparate conditions. Our mission is to implement in-person/virtual on-line programming that will build community relationships, foster positive social engagement, and bridge the communication gap between older adults and youth in these undeserved communities. We administer and facilitate multi-cultural cultural workshop series, empowerment trainings, support groups and wrap around services to build community and foster healing from exposure to crime-related incidents. With a success rate of strengthening the family unit, increasing community participation and promoting access and equity we will be expanding the program in FY23 over 50%. Show less
