Alongside the Human Rights Collective at UBC my team will be conducting research and analysis to advance the understanding of military action as it concerns climate change and the protection of cultural heritage. This project is run by the Canadian Armed Forces' Dallaire Centre of Excellence (DCOE) and takes place at the intersection of human rights and human security, both issues very relevant to my background in sociocultural Anthropology. I am excited to get started working with a multidisciplinary team as we aim to develop concepts, advance relevant research and sponsor doctrinal changes in support of military training and education on the topic of heritage, peace and security.
