As project coordinator at the Getty Research Institutet within the Getty Center, my duties were to coordinate and executive public program events and projects. This consisted of public lectures, symposiums, workshops, seminars, and exhibition openings. It required organization and administrative skills to manage the event and the process of coordination. It begins with organizing a launch meeting with the sponsors and team, which includes the designer, curator/researcher, communications department, publications and web group, and the event specialists. The look and feel of the event, in addition to the guest list and title of the event, are decided. From there working with a certain budget, flights, hotels, Letters of Agreements and other legal documents are developed and setup. The participants and guests are contacted to plan for their arrival. These participants include, but not limited to, various directors and heads of art and architecture institutions throughout the world. The planning of an event takes about 3-4 months and then the coordination takes place the dates of the event. Some projects under my coordination include: Knoedler Gallery Workshop (40 guests) "No Further West: The Story of Los Angeles" at the Los Angeles Public Library (exhibition opening with 250+ guests) Jackson Pollock Symposium (300+ attendees; assisted with day of coordination and receptions) GRI Townhall (internal meeting with 100 attendees) GRI/Sschool of Cinematic Arts, Art on Screen in collaboration with USC (40 guests) "Yvonne Rainer: Dances and Films" (exihibition with 150+ guests and Yvonne Rainer herself) GRI Graduate Student and Faculty Welcome (preliminary development) Pacific Standard Time II: Los Angeles/Latin America Symposium (preliminary development) Show less

As part of the Jeffrey Rome and Associates team, I began as an intern and worked my way into a project management coordinator position. My role was to manage the Pacific Northwest telecommunication market for AT&T, which included sites in Oregon, Alaska, Washington, and Idaho. With over 100 sites at a time, we would begin the design process of a new or existing telecommunication tower submit it to Mastec Newtork Solution and close it out after construction. The core of these projects was to design for the installation of new microwave antennas and equipment cabinets at the various sites. It would require the modification of the existing towers and installation of new equipment shelters. It required the review of construction documents and submitting them for approval, as well as structural documents. In addition, I would assist with the creating of photosimulation documents for our clients. These rendering still images would portray the before and after look of a telecommunication tower in order for the client to better visualize the installation. Show less

During my internship in the Mutlicultural Undergraduate Intern program, I assisted with the organization and coordination of two major events. The first was a lecture with LA Times architectural critic Christopher Hawthorne as he presented the work of the former Ada Louise Huxtable. It was a public event with over a hundred guests. In addition, I created the program and presentation materials for the Pacific Standard Time II: Los Angeles/Latin America workshop, which introduced the next installment of the Getty Center's PST. We had 20 guest speakers from around the world from different institutions that were invited to discuss the influence of Latin American art in the Los Angeles region. In addition, there were over 100 representatives in attendance from various institutions in Southern California. Lastly for this workshop, it consisted of a dinner and reception for the invited guests and those involved in the project from the Getty Research Institute and the Getty Foundation. Show less
