PhD thesis focusing on the indoor airflow modelling for industrial applications. In this context, a new numerical time scheme is developped, implemented, verified and validated on EDF R&D CFD open source solver code_saturne. The latter is meant to be used in compressible and incompressible regimes and for first and second order turbulent flow simulations.A stability analysis is also carried on the positivity of thermodynamic variables. The new scheme is being extended to humid air properties and equation of state. Research Intern : Study of forward and inverse numerical uncertainties propagation
-
Mar 2019 - Aug 2019
In a growing computational power context, numerical simulations applied to several domains whose mechanics and particularly CFD are increasing.Uncertainty propagation allows one user to evaluate a more trustable numerical results according to a model uncertain parameters. During this internship my work consists of :• Analyze data and its consistency• Use statistical methods to propagate uncertainties• Use an adaptive stochastic mesh strategy• Couple for and backward propagations• Validate results on different multi-physics systems (ex : Scramjet)This new approach shall provide more robust solutions and therefore give also access to data that couldn't be measured experimentally. Research Intern: Applying Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) in a combustion model for a diesel engine
-
May 2018 - Jul 2018
Predicting some pollutant emissions thanks to physics isn't always possible. In that case some empirical models can be used. My project aims to develop an Artificial Neural Network able to predict any emission for precise pollutant species. The main work consisted in : •Analyze the experimental data available. •Find important parameters for the model building. •Make the data pre processing. •Train several neural networks. •Analyze the predictions after post processing. •Optimize the current models. •Implement the predictive model into a main combustion code.
