I worked closely with Heather on a management audit and found her to be a very effective leader and group facilitator. During team and external outreach meetings, she demonstrated superior listening skills and the ability to handle difficult and contentious situations. She is easy to talk to, creating an open and engaging atmosphere in which people are comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns. I was impressed by her skills working with people. I believe Heather also brings out the best in others. Over the course of the audit, I saw this many times; one incident in particular involved a meeting held 78 miles (one-way) from the office. It was close to 10 p.m., the last outreach meeting of the project. We were both tired and ready to get on the road to drive home, but we still had to close up the meeting room, return keys, and load boxes of handouts, office supplies, flip charts, easels, and A-V equipment in the car. To my surprise, Heather urged that we also take the bags of used cups, bottles, and cans home for recycling. I had been ready to leave them there for others to recycle (I hoped). Thanks to Heather’s extraordinary gesture toward protecting the environment, I do more to recycle—even when it is easier to just forget about it and let someone else do it. Overall, I appreciate the opportunity I had to work with Heather. I highly recommend her services to others.

Heather Sims Silva has worked for KH Consulting Group (KH), first as a research consultant and now as a consultant. She's reflective, analytical, and reliable. One never worries about client project deadlines when Heather's assigned. She's fully engaged and on top of every detail. More important is her background in social anthropology. She approaches every project with no preconceived notions, which allows her work to be objective and tailored to the given corporate culture, involved people, and organizational values. And on top of it all, she's fun, light-hearted, and an eternal optimist. Always jump at the chance to work with Heather!
