  Based in a non-profit organization, I took a mixed-methods, process-oriented, and results-based approach to evaluating state and federal initiatives and their related programs serving children, youth, and families. I designed and conducted the evaluation of system challenges for the REACH Collaborative Management Program (Colorado House Bill 1451). RCMP is a collaboration of partners in El Paso County that serve children, youth and families involved in multiple systems such as child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health, and schools. Program-level multi-system interventions included High Fidelity Wraparound and family care coordination for truancy prevention. Show less

  Conducted ethnographic, focus group, and survey research to evaluate a residential summer camp's mission to develop children and youth's "sense of self, sense of relationship, sense of community, and sense of connection to the natural world". This research won the American Camp Association's 2016 Eleanor P. Eells Award for Excellence in Research in Practice. Provided a report that explained how they achieved success with campers in order to sustain positive impact. Provided data-driven suggestions and methods for improving key outcomes through expanded counselor training. Advised camp directors on current research in outdoor education linking camper outcomes to "21st century skills." Show less
