Sally Boynton Brown
Heather and I have worked together first as she was an intern and then throughout her political career in various degrees. Heather excels at high stakes communication during stressful times, delivering results in difficult situations and managing multiple personalities to bring out their strengths. She is committed to growth and always seeking direct, expedient feedback to improve her performance. Heather takes responsibility for her attitude and the way she shows up as a team member and takes action to chart a new course when her current plan proves to be ineffective. Heather Colwell was campaign manager in my 2018 run for the Idaho State Senate. I came into the race with a strong message and a passion to serve, but little else. Heather’s experience leading 2 other candidates to victory was critical to my running mate’s and my campaigns. She brought us through the frenetic startup period, building a strong team of staff, interns, and volunteers. Heather is a strong manager and leader. She mentored me very well, collaborating to build a strong messaging platform and helping me to deliver it effectively. The team was inspired by her passion, and her patient training made them effective and efficient. This young team worked extraordinarily hard, putting in long hours and their lives on hold. I credit Heather’s strong leadership and organizational skills for this. Heather is extremely dedicated and faithful to her commitments. She works extremely hard while pouring her creativity into every aspect of the job.
