Qualitative Data Coder
-
Dec 2013 - Apr 2014
My job was to work with interviews taken with company archivists and code them for relevant themes and ideas relating to their jobs. It gave me experience adding quantitative rigor to qualitative data which was an incredible experience, but also the content of the interviews were of huge value to me as at that time an aspiring librarian. While what was said in them is confidential, reading what archivists at top companies were saying helped to inspire me greatly in my own perspectives on the use of archives and libraries. Show less

Library Assistant
-
2011 - 2014
As a student clerk, I was part of the customer service that the library liked to offer to students, faculty, staff and the community. Being friendly and offering assistance whenever required was the priority of my work, although the backbone of what I did was clerk and page work: shelving, cleaning, taking money for fines, and more. Working with a small team, we created and ran the Summer Reading Program at the local public library, looking to keep a focus on inclusion, fun activities, and social aspects to keep children learning and interacting with one another during the summer months. Also part of the program was the start of a day camp once a week to help immigrated children interact in the community, learn about their new home, and be immersed with English speaking staff and children in order to help maintain what they've learned through the school year.
