Heather is cheerful, organized, honest, hardworking, and displays God-given leadership abilities. She is a great addition to any team.

Heather is everything you could ask for in a team player. For more than eight years I have had the opportunity to see her helpfully and reliably serve others with kindness and thoughtfulness in many different contexts. She puts others' needs before her own, contributes ideas, works toward solving problems with constructive solutions and takes calculated risks for the common good. I'd work with Heather on any team or project

I assist the management team with projects in every department at the two retail stores and the off-site warehouse. This position is fluid, and has the constant goal of answering "what could be done better?" or "where do we more focused attention?"I started off in the company shipping online orders and backing up basic warehouse duties but was noticed by management for consistently exceeding expectations. I soon because the assistant to management which grown my project management skills. Due to my detail orientation, effective prioritization, and ability to work out goals ahead of time and formulate a plan many projects have see a reduction in labor time and an increased quality of the finished product.

In this position I managed a team of roughly 40 members in various warehouse and volunteer management roles. During our "processing season" we handled an estimate of 870,000 donated shoebox gifts preparing the boxes to ship overseas. Due to the quality of our team members and management this year we were exceeded our all expectations and finished ahead of schedule. As a floor manager nearly two-thirds of my staff was directly responsible for training, coaching, and overseeing hundreds of volunteers daily. Achieving our goals that "every shoebox would be handled with excellence, expediency, and care" and that "every volunteer would have an amazing experience" was determined in a large part by my team. With the feedback we received from our volunteers and the fact that we finished ahead of schedule it is clear that those goals were not only met but exceeded our expectations. As a management team our goal was to equip and empower our staff to achieve our goals and that is exactly what we were able to do.

This was my second stint as the member of this team with roughly 5 months and a goal of connecting with as many churches nationally as possible and I was thrilled when I was asked to join the team again. As a returning team member not only was I given my normal duties but was also involved in the training and equipping of many of our new team members. Due to the nature of our team this year at the start of our assignment I volunteered for an additional amount of work in both connecting with leadership teams and local churches. With these increased responsibilities I finished ahead of schedule and moved on to assisting other team members. As a member of a local and satellite office, and a national team I enjoyed the opportunity to grow my ability to work with both a local and remote team. As a church relation associate I had the joy to connect with church leaders and volunteers in at least seven states, accounting for tens of local area teams, hundreds of volunteers, and thousands of donations gifts. I came alongside to support local team leaders giving myself the additional goal of encouraging them through our weekly email. Due to my efforts, in conjunction with the area teams, many churches were equipped, informed, and encouraged, and all of the area team leaders expressed their gratitude for my efforts not only in my regular role but also for my often timely encouragement.

As a church relations associate for the west coast and half of the northwest I was tasked with connecting with hundreds of churches in support of tens of area teams throughout the western and northwestern states. I also had the responsibility of preparing and dispersing weekly order reports and aiding in the networking for each area. This role required a high level of communication via calls, in-person meetings, emails, and video chats and detail oriented level of spreadsheet management and sharing. I was required to navigate the needs of my many connections as well as those of my office and national teams in a timely and proactive manner. In addition to the regular requirements of the job I had the joy of seizing opportunities to go above and beyond in both donor care and volunteer team leadership guidance. One more than one occasion I took the opportunity to spend additional time with new leaders who were struggling in their roles to enable them to refocus and reengage. As office and organization wide needs arose I lended a hand to achieve success on the tasks at hand, which lead to being cross-trained in many other roles. With all the tasks both anticipated and unexpected I was able to completely my assignment ahead of schedule and assist other members. After finishing my term in church relations I went on to work in the Orange County processing center for the season.

I began working with Old Navy as general customer service employee covering responsibilities in cashiering, managing incoming calls, floor coverage, and other tasks. When I turned 18 I was placed in a cash-handler role balancing end/beginning of day reports with actual cash counts and aiding the management team in team leadership. At the time of my resignation I was leading the shipment and merchandising team as the Women's Merchant. In my role as a merchant I was responsible for co-managing a team of varying number in receiving, sorting, and placing in-coming merchandise. I was required uphold flow plan goals handed down from corporate level management while interpreting them to fit within the space available and incorporate out-of-season stock. This role required balancing the high expectations of being a leading regional store in a time sensitive environment. As the Women's merchant my managers never had to worry about the quality of my work or that every task would be completed in a timely manner.

As the first mission's intern for Village Bible Church I had the privilege of pioneering a new initiative within the church. Many years later I am now part of a team heading up the official implementation of a high quality internship for young adults and older church members. During my internship I spent three months in Portugal and a month in Spain aiding Village Bible Church supported missionary families in their ministries. The nature of this role lead to a wide variety of tasks from basic household and child care to camp counseling and facilities maintenance. In my role as a camp counselor in Portugal I was tasked with improving struggling Portuguese language skills to counselor level language skills in just under two weeks. A goal which was accomplished, exceeding the expectations of my leadership team. As an intern I learned valuable skills in cultural acquisition and sensitivity, flexibility, problem solving, and adaptability.
