Have the opportunity to teach science at an amazing forward-thinking, alternative private high school. Teach classes of 5-11 students Freshman Bio and upperclassmen elective science (Zoology, Environmental Science and Virology). Have designed a three tiered curriculum for Biology that meets the level of all students, so that everyone is challenged, bot no one is overwhelmed. Because classes are so small, I can tailor the curriculum to each student. With a background in teaching students with special needs, I teach an academic success class in Biology that makes the same material accessible to students with learning differences. Wrote the curriculum for Virology and was able to get it UC A-G approved as a lab science, which was a feat! It has become a favorite class on campus. Recently rolled out Environmental Science (my UC approval turn around was about 24 hours). The curriculum is experiential and hands-on. I also started the Green Club and we are going Zero Waste as a school! Show less
