I was lucky enough to interview Heather for my book on women entrepreneurs. She was recommended as someone so full of creative ideas, purpose and passion - "You must interview her!". I was incredibly impressed how wise Heather is for her age. I'm reticent to even mention age but she is truly wiser beyond her years and it shows in how she composes herself, chases after her ideas/dreams and in her approach to people and in the world. I felt lucky to speak with her for the book and I look forward to watching her soar in the years to come. A true woman to watch!

Grant Writer

Mar 2023 - Present
The Calgary Rural PCN works together with communities, family doctors and other health team members to do whatever we can to help you be as healthy as possible. We are working together to change the delivery of health care in our communities from reactive to preventative by providing services to patients that fit their needs through supports we have in our member clinics, such as nurses, dietitians and other health care professionals. We collaborate to provide the tools and education to empower patients to work on their everyday health needs. As grant writer for the CRPCN, I identify fund development opportunities and am responsible for research, grant, and proposal writing for the organization. In the role as grant writer, I am responsible for maintaining internal stakeholders relationships, as well as building and developing strong community partnerships, and opportunities for collaboration. The role of grant writer is an integral position within the PCN in identifying funding opportunities that support capacity building within community based initiatives and bolster funding required to sustain the on-going demands of healthcare needs.
