Promoted to Lead Academic Advisor to supervise and manage the undergraduate and graduate School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences student advising and internship staff. I also have the opportunity to advise undergraduate students within our school. Supervise five full-time academic advisors in a large interdisciplinary department that offers 18 majors and 21 minors. Consult and advise the department's curriculum and scheduling committees. Collaborate with student facing front lines offices across campus to insure students have a positive experience as a student at UW Tacoma. Staff representative on School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Science Diversity Committee. Advise current and prospective students on a wide range of topics: application process, review for outstanding prerequisites and transferable courses, academic planning, scholarship opportunities, internships, and career options, advise students who have been dropped from the university for low grades.
