This consists of diving into the offshore cage to feed and harvest cobia, boat handling, and husbandry of cobia and sharknose gobies in a flow-through aquaculture lab. • Additional field and lab work includes facilitating other Cape Eleuthera Institute research programs such as flats ecology and shark research. This involves seine netting in creeks to collect bonefish, mojarra, and pufferfish for lab experiments, baiting, deploying, and retrieving lines, as well as handling and tagging sharks. Lab work studying the effects of prolonged tonic immobility on stress levels in juvenile lemon sharks. This entails the handling of sharks and blood analysis.• Mentoring and teaching students from the Island School as a part of their research class.
