Bio
Kaitlyn Engelken PSM SSM PSPO
I have worked with Heather for over 5 years. As a young developer, she taught me a lot about how to write and test my code. Heather's strengths are in her attention to detail and her amazing knowledge about ELD and the Transportation industry. She also balances this with her focus on usability and thinking like the customer. Heather is the person you want for a project with complex rules and requirements. She will ensure that the end product complies with all regulations, while also making it delightful for the customer. She is a talented test and requirements writer, as well as a QA background to find many hidden bugs. Heather also has a special interest in collaboration and inclusiveness. She is the kind of co-worker that her colleagues want to talk to and learn from. As I have transitioned to a scrum master role, we have worked on several workshops together and each time was a great opportunity to bounce ideas off of one another and find ways to make the activities meaningful and valuable to the participants.

I worked with Heather for over sixteen years at Innovative Software Engineering and Trimble Transportation. Throughout this time she has had many responsibilities, including requirements capture, quality assurance, validation, subject matter expert in the realm of telematics and federal Hours of Service regulations, spearheading process improvement initiatives, teaching and leading others, and many more. I have been continually inspired by how Heather throws everything she has into whatever role she is filling at every given opportunity. Her attention to detail has never been anything less than impressive, and I can truly say that working with her has been a massive influence on the way I think about software quality. She has been my colleague, my thinking partner, and my guide throughout the majority of my career thus far, and and has been integral to the success of every project on which we have worked together. I would not hesitate to work with her again given the opportunity, and know that she will continue to excel at whatever the future holds for her.
