As a Vehicle integration and performance engineer, my role is to work on the localization of the autonomous vehicle and to collect data on the wheel speed and steering. My main work is to work on my dissertation topic "CONTROL AT GRIP LIMITS: HIGH-SPEED PATH-FOLLOWING BASED UPON GPS & IMU DATA" The aim of this project is to program an algorithm to minimise the noise of GPS, IMU and wheel speed sensor measurements and to use this to arrive at a most accurate result. Compare the estimated result with the result obtained using the Kalman filter and aim to attain better results with the new algorithm. Further use this result gained to obtain the maximum performance on the Oxford Brookes Racing autonomous car within its grip limits. To use this output to communicate with the autonomous car like a race engineer communicates to the race driver on track. Show less
