Since joining GHD I have been trained as a project manager and assisted with many projects including auditing, management systems, strategic assessments, environmental impact assessments, contaminated land assessments, marine surveys, and development of construction and operational environmental management plans. As a trained project manager, my responsibilities include coordinating the project team, liaison with clients and other stakeholders, managing finances and ensuring projects are undertaken in line with ISO 9001. Highlights in this role: - I was an integral member of the team who undertook the strategic environmental assessment of the Qatar National Master Plan. During the Project I have been an assistant project manager and the project manager. I was required to undertake stakeholder liaison with government agencies, work directly with sub consultants in the UK, manage project finances, and coordinate work with offices in Australia and the US. - I have worked on a number of projects in Cardiff, Abu Dhabi and Qatar that adhere to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. Projects include construction inspections, development of management systems, audits and documentation assessment. Work has included specialised departments and areas such as hospitals, laboratories, police departments and universities. - I am familiar with Qatar’s environmental laws and permitting process, including Law No. 30 of 2002 for Environmental Protection and Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) 2014. I have developed the inspection checklist and undertaken and coordinated weekly environmental audits for a construction site in Doha as well as developing environmental management plans. The audits and plans were in line with Qatar legislation and the sites’ associated environmental permits.
