I advance University of Iowa Health Care (UIHC) and the initiatives of the Department of Internal Medicine by building and managing a portfolio of major gift prospects and moving those prospects through the steps of an established process of donor engagement, collaborating with other UI Center for Advancement fundraisers as needed. I serve as their trusted philanthropic advisor, educating them about giving opportunities that would enable them to achieve their desired impact on UIHC and beyond… Show more I advance University of Iowa Health Care (UIHC) and the initiatives of the Department of Internal Medicine by building and managing a portfolio of major gift prospects and moving those prospects through the steps of an established process of donor engagement, collaborating with other UI Center for Advancement fundraisers as needed. • Campaign Manager, Light The Night
      • Aug 2018 - Aug 2020

As the Eastern Iowa Light The Night Campaign Manager I had the privilege of sharing that I was in the business of curing cancer every day. In this role I identified and engaged corporations, businesses, community leaders, groups and schools to ensure revenue goals were met. I oversaw all aspects of local corporate fundraising campaigns with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) national partners, which included providing input into the development of strategic plans tailored to each… Show more As the Eastern Iowa Light The Night Campaign Manager I had the privilege of sharing that I was in the business of curing cancer every day. I oversaw all aspects of local corporate fundraising campaigns with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) national partners, which included providing input into the development of strategic plans tailored to each partner. At my role's year-end we celebrated at our annual fundraising event, Light The Night, where I acted as the onsite manager. Light the Night is LLS's community event to build awareness for blood cancers, as well as raise money for research and support for cancer patients and their families.

As an intern during the summer of 2018, I worked closely with University of Iowa (UI) Center for Advancement Development Officers from both the Internal Medicine and UI Stead Family Children's Hospital fundraising teams. My time with the children's team was spent working with corporate and community partners. My time with the children's team was spent working with corporate and community partners. While working with those corporate partners I took the lead on strategizing and promoting their fundraising campaigns. Community partners came to us requesting tools for their own third-party fundraising events. I provided those necessary tools which offered guidance for event planning and promotion. Lastly, I developed stewardship plans for two children's hospital partners. During my time with Internal Medicine my mentor and I met with department donors to continue engaging them with the University of Iowa, as well as to continue stewarding them for their investment. Through those interactions we were able to identify whether continued giving could be anticipated through conversations of why they initially gave. At the end of the summer for the culminating intern project I presented best practices for engaging soon-to-be graduates of the University of Iowa as future alumni. My group's focus was on exposing these soon-to-be graduates to philanthropy and improving alumni engagement overall.
