Conducting qualitative and quantitative research methods, sharing data with state decision-makers, analyzing health data, organizing that information into a report or database, and data dissemination regarding both internal health data and chronic public health conditions. Conducting other research tasks related to the health disparity in question (including but not limited to; literature reviews, planning and implementing focus groups, research on the mechanisms of change in the body, and co-chairing the data subcommittee of the West Michigan Health Equity Coalition, supporting coalition efforts). Develop, conduct, and report on both online and in-person polling within the City of Grand Rapids, Michigan to gauge community support for health policy initiatives. Collect, refine, synthesize, analyze, present, and maintain data and/or educational resources and share them with ULWM employees, communities, stakeholders, or decision-makers. Develop key messages about health disparities; to be placed in key community newspapers and/or publications (e.g. church and conference bulletins, barber shops, and other places where African American community gathers, etc.) For the purpose of relaying the dangers of use, social determinants of health disparities, and promoting resources in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Develop and maintain handouts, factsheets, and/or infographics. Utilize the WMHEC social media accounts to spread public health messages, provide education. Compile data to leverage support for community events, partnerships, and health education programs. Assist the Holistic Health & Education Department in related community outreach events. Communicate with state-level and city-level stakeholders. Actively participate in Sustainability/Technical assistance conference calls to provide informed work. Support the Urban League of West Michigan’s data reporting efforts to further the mission and vision of promoting health and self-efficiency for all. Show less
