While on furlough from my role at Worldwide Cancer Research, I volunteered my time with Empty Kitchens, Full Hearts, a community project set up as a direct response to the pandemic to redistribute food to people who need it and save it going to waste.I originally signed up to work with the operations team, packaging food to be sent out to citizens across Edinburgh, but quickly realised I could help raise awareness of the organisation through marketing and communication activities.During my time volunteering, I established a set of brand guidelines and implemented across all digital platforms and assisted heavily with the creation and direction of the website. While working with Empty Kitchens, Full Hearts, I secured a number of press opportunities, including a TV spot on BBC's The Nine and several published (digital and print) press releases and comments including in The Herald, Edinburgh Evening News and Edinburgh Live.

My role here included playing a part in a web re-design and migration. During my time at EDCH we made several high profile press appearances, including a campaign to find 'Britain's Unluckiest Dog' - who had been at the Home for 5 years, which was successful, and the campaign was picked up nationally and internationally and shared on social media platforms such as Pretty 52.
