The Technical Manager is responsible to effectively manage all technical and related services at the hospitals including risks related to infrastructure and assets, all plant and equipment (both clinical and non-clinical). Sites: City Hospital, Citimed, Ascot Hospital, Gandhi Mandela Nursing Academy, APS Hall And JMH properties • Enforcement of Group policies and procedures to staff members as well as contractors to ensure the mitigation of all risks. • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other related legislation. • Ensure quality and safety assurance during and after completion of contracts as the safety custodian. • Responsible for project management of all small building projects at site. • Responsible for the financial performance and budget of the Technical Department. • Custodian of the asset management database (Internal Maintenance Management System) ensuring reliability and validity of all data. • Management of the maintenance management system, ensuring that all equipment risks are managed and that all repairs and maintenance is conducted, as and when required. • Interact in a professional manner with colleagues, staff, and clients. • Prepare monthly reports and adhoc reports as requested – reports on staff, contractors, facilities, and assets of the hospital. • Attend Hospital and Regional meetings as well as inter‐departmental interaction with a focus on health and safety. • Ensure professional technical conduct at all times. • Keeping up to date with all JMH evolving policies and procedures. • In consultation with HR Manager, develop training and succession plans to ensure that staff are trained to the statutory competency requirements for their specific roles. Administration • Liaise and organize field work, co-operating closely with the client and other service providers in order to ensure a smooth and cost-effective execution of work. • Co-operate with the client and other service provider in providing all necessary information for detailed field planning of technical (NB air conditioning and electrical) maintenance in order to ensure optimum implementation. • Control for material usage by checking field requisitions and PO details to ensure material ordered is appropriate for the job. • Responsible for the timeous flow of job cards between call Centre and technicians • Approval of time sheets leave forms and any disciplinary source documents as per delegated authority. • Ensure flow of communication between top management and operational staff.
