• The primary assignment was getting the ACI Fabric more up-to-date with the production environment. • My role was creating the ISP tickets for how the cabling was to be done in a cut sheet based on directions I received from the P&D (planning and designing) team. • Collapsing the current ACI environment. Adding the new Constructs to match the production environment. From there we planned out dates to execute the changes needed. We started by decommissioning the 7k's which had all the servers, Databases, Firewalls, Etc. • Worked extensively with creating visio diagrams on existing legacy networks and identifying gaps from standards that needed to be resolved. • Commended for quickly resolving complex issues including system crashes, network slowdowns, connectivity problems, security breaches, virus infections and more. • Configured Nexus 5k, Nexus 7k and Arista switches in order to standardize them according to the new regional data center design. • Administer and troubleshoot Cisco ASA firewalls, Load Balancers (F5, A10), Nexus Switches (5k,7k) • Created detailed port matrixes for how switches would be cross connected via multi-mode fiber within the data center. This included specifying which SFP and SFP+ modules and fiber jumper cables were needed • Utilized SNMP and Netflow based probes in PRTG to monitor utilization across various data centers located across the country and created a remediation list of circuits that needed to be re-sized. • Implemented NetScout Ethernet taps and packet brokers to capture data center traffic at F5 load balancers, A10 load balancers and various Data Center switches • Created change control documentation and submitted for approvals including creating detailed MOPs for peer review prior to implementation. • Implemented small to medium sized site tech refreshes where I replaced the legacy WAN routers with newer 4300 series ISRs and Core switches with newer 3850 series Core switches and Access switches. • Implemented access switches which were Layer 2 with a data and voice vlan for each IDF to create a more stable spanning tree environment. • The core switches ran HSRP for redundancy and provided default gateways for all vlans and subnets. • Configured BGP with route-maps and prefix lists to allow the 10.0.0.0/8 network and default route inbound and only send the summary route outbound. • Implemented Nexus 7K VDCs, VPCs to Nexus 5Ks and FEX 2248s in the top of rack for server connectivity. • Redistributed BGP into OSPF along with default-information originate to propagate the BGP routes into OSPF as E2 routes. • Very comfortable with all the standard troubleshooting steps for OSPF, EIGRP and BGP such as sh ip bgp sum, sh ip bgp neigh x advertised-routes, sh ip ospf neigh, doing extended pings to stress test links etc. • Created basic firewall policies on ASA 5525-X firewalls with both CLI and ASDM based on customer requirements. • Updated rule sets on Palo Alto 3Ks based on gathering application requirements from the end customers and added necessary objects and policies. • Added basics VIPs, pools, auto map, http health checks, custom health checks on F5 virtual edition load balancers. • Created basic vSwitching within vCenter and assigned proper vlans to various VMs as needed by customers.
