After a successful month working at Jim Wilson Chevrolet, I was requested by the dealer principal to join his more thriving and busier dealership at Wilson Niblett in Richmond Hill, Ontario. My goal is to provide the same level of service I provided at Jim Wilson to the clients of Richmond Hill while ensuring company needs and goals are met and targets achieved monthly. Promoted to Sales Manager after 3 months working with the Dealership.

In the short period of time working at Jim Wilson Chevrolet I was able to assist the team in obtaining nine subprime deals in their first month versus the zero they had for the entire year. I was able to assist the clients in Orillia who had challenged credit finally find a car loan from a reputable dealer to meet their needs within the parameters of the banks requirements. My daily responsibilities were similar to all other Finance Manager positions in the past but also included coordinating with the General Sales Manager and Sales Manager in finding new clients and past opportunities that had been missed in the last few months. Working at Rexdale Hyundai provided me the opportunity to yet again work with a different clientele than what I was previously used to working. After a few months of working at Rexdale, I was able to gain the experience needed to work with the younger Indian community. The vast number of clientele at Rexdale were young newcomers who required a lot of assistance in obtaining approvals. Working at Rexdale provided me with the ability to identify how to help newcomers and those with challenged credit in obtaining approvals. I gained the experience in finding the right banks and programs that are suited for various clientele that do not have good credit experience. Aside from the daily responsibilities as a Finance Manager, I would regularly meet with the Sales Management team to identify new ways to increase both our client traffic as well as improve our profitability among the Finance team. As the leader in Warranty and Chemical Protection penetration, the Management Team sought my knowledge and approach to help the rest of the team provide clients with more than just Gap insurance as an option. After a few years experiencing how other dealerships function and growing in my current role, I have returned back home to Scarborough Toyota to take my career to the next step. Working under the leadership of the Director of Finance, Amir Eftekhari, my role requires me to train and coach a team of four young inexperienced Finance Managers while assisting the sales floor with their six new young hires. Gaining experience in dealing with other management roles throughout the time away from Scarborough Toyota has provided me with avenues to be more effective in increasing sales and assisting overall with other departments. My responsibility was both to the Finance team and the Sales team working with the Director of Finance and Sales Managers and General Sales Manager to ensure a holistic approach to the vehicle purchase experience. A large part of the responsibility was to create targets for the team to achieve and provide detailed methods of how to achieve those attainable targets. Working along with the Director of Finance we would have weekly and monthly meetings with the upper management team and discuss both results and targets and identify shortcomings and how to improve on those shortcomings. With a little over a year of working with Formula Honda I was able to gain the knowledge of how to work with the Sri Lankan community in Scarborough. I was able to take my career to the next step in challenging myself to handle the various responsibilities of a Finance Manager while taking on a larger number of clientele, upwards of 70 to 80 turn overs a month. The responsibilities were the same like all the other dealerships of which included ensuring the clients needs and questions were resolved, options to protect themselves and their vehicle purchases were provided, licensing was completed, insurance was collected, approvals were obtained and all necessary supporting documentation, all documents were printed and signed, all products were registered, and all funding was submitted and completed efficiently and all files were handed to the appropriate party in a timely manner. Working in a fast paced and busy environment allowed me to obtain the skill of "sink or swim" where I was responsible to ensure all my work was completed and all the clients needs met while meeting the business needs and targets. I was able to proficiently handle a larger work load while still being able to be successful among a group of five Finance Managers who had been with the dealership for years. Show less

In the short time working at Barrie Honda as a Financial Service Manager has broadened my horizons to the potential of working in a commission based dealership. My previous experience as a Financial Service Manager was salary based and I always discerned the opportunity to make higher income was in my control, especially with my sales and service capability. Working at Honda provided me with the opportunity to compare two of the top automotive brands, Honda and Toyota, and identify the major distinctions in how the dealerships are run and brands are focused. I perceived the incredible opportunity to make higher income with the gross margins and overall difference in clientele from the two different areas in Toronto and Greater Toronto Area. Working at Barrie Honda allowed me to hone my proficiency in being able to handle a massive amount of paperwork efficiently while taking an average of 50 turn over’s a month. My daily routine consisted of ensuring licensing was completed for deliveries and all paperwork was printed and matched the lenders for quick and efficient funding. Aside from selling Honda Canada and First Canadian protection products and ensuring all clients were aware of their options to protect themselves and their purchases, my position required me to ensure customers comprehended all the legal paperwork and insurance was in order prior to each and every delivery. Working at Scarborough Toyota as a Financial Services Manager has many core duties that revolve around sales and customer service. Along with these duties, as a Financial Service Manager, I also have to ensure the clients understand their legal obligations to the lender and the lenders obligations to the customer. Part of this task involves ensuring legal paper work is in order to have lenders book deals efficiently to ensure minimal loss for the company and maximum growth and gain. A large portion of my position revolves around assisting credit challenged customers get approved with the lenders and provide those customers with an avenue to help rebuild their credit while providing the dealership with an avenue for tremendous growth and gross. Average of 5 subprime deals a month, equating to approx 35000-50000$ in front and back end gross per month. Above and beyond my role as a Financial Service Manager, I also assist in the upkeep of many back end and accounting needs by registering all warranties in a timely manor, ensuring CSI numbers are high and registered, registering TCUV to meet company targets, assisting accounting in identifying documents that are missing in dockets to meet both OMVIC and auditing standards, lease and loan payouts, printing and organization of documents for deliveries, ordering of pamphlets and materials, creating trackers for sales to stay organized, creation of charts and graphs to present in meetings, and most importantly stay late during month ends to ensure accounting and sales are on par to help close the month efficiently in meeting company targets for the month. While working at Glentel I had the opportunity to work in all three banners of the company of which included Wireless Etc, Wireless Wave and Telephone Booth in three different districts of which included Ottawa, Toronto East and Toronto North. Many of the core duties as an Assistant Sales Manager revolved around ensuring the store met monthly, quarterly and yearly targets and sales staff met their daily, weekly, and monthly goals. I would hold daily morning meetings to prepare a strategy for the day and weekly meetings to over view the progress and room for growth and monthly meetings to recap what we could improve on for the following month. Along with attending many manager meetings and running the store efficiently by ensuring advertising and inventory was always on par with company needs, I would also meet with clients and provide them with cellular solutions and accessories to accompany those sales. I was consistently in the third tier out of four every month consistently while attending to my other duties. Handling customer needs and complaints was also a large part of the role aside from the overall sales and management duties. These issues would always be resolved efficiently and effectively making sure our store was always ranked as number one overall for both sales and service in the company while working at Yorkdale Wireless Wave for the entire six months I stayed at that location before proceeding to assist with other locations. While working at Belairdirect I had the opportunity to become OTL licensed which allowed me to discuss and sell automotive and residential insurance in Ontario. With a strong sales and service background I excelled in the position obtaining over 120% of target every month in both residential and automotive sales targets, averaging approximately 25+ automotive and 20+ residential policies per month. I was also provided with many MVP awards month after month for my contribution to helping lead my team to success month over month through motivational team meetings and one on one coaching with members of the team that required some extra assistance. I was requested to be part of an elite team to handle difficult customers and resolve those complaints effectively and efficiently. I was provided with many high reviews from customers directly to the management team for the service I provided and was ranked part of the top 20 of the company employees in sales, yearly. One of my important duties involved handling complicated files that required detailed underwriting of files in result to my attention to detail. I would assist underwriters with these complicated files to ensure we obtain all information from clients and would assist the sales and service team in ensuring all the mistakes would be rectified and accounting notified to ensure refunds would be provided to these customers. In many of these instances, both the management team and customers would greatly appreciate the ability to catch and rectify these mistakes for the improved customer relations. Show less
