As a Senior Software Engineer – Project Manager I was required to finalize the functional requirement with the whole team which includes resources from Mazik, Tyler and Microsoft as well, provide estimations, implement the requirements according to the standards and methodologies of Microsoft, get them reviewed by Microsoft and submit them. It consists of Desktop and Mobile based versions. The purpose of the system is to physically count the inventory at the end of year or may be at any time of the year and matches the physically counted data with the one present in the database. It is also compared with the inventory data collected during the last Physical Counts so that variance report can be generated and viewed. Data is collected either using the laptops or using the PDA Devices because Inventory is located on large area and it is not possible to move the User Computer around for data collection therefore PDA Devices are used for this purpose. System also supports the offline collection of data incase if device gets disconnected from the Wireless network. The system is the company’s internal software and it facilitates the purchasing using Minimum Stock Level Criteria, controls the Inventory and evaluates the stock using Weighted Average Rate standard.
