Plek is a communication platform used by 300+ organisations where people can collaborate, share knowledge and connect in new ways.I led the design for the entire platform ensuring user and client needs were cohesively met. My work included;– Designing a modular mobile application from scratch for iOS and Android, which is used by hundreds of organisations, including the Dutch Ministry of the Interior, the International Water Association, The Netherlands Institute for Human Rights, Amsterdam Fire Brigade and Amstelveen Municipality.– Specifying server-side platform logic for product features including search, chat, notifications, calendar, taxonomy, settings, forms, and privacy.– Developing a notification framework that specified different actions for hundreds of instances based on urgency and relevance. This led users to count on the default notification settings tailored to their engagement, understanding what was important and relevant to them.– Creating a privacy framework that allowed for cross-department collaboration within an organisation while protecting the privacy of each working group if needed. This framework was specifically designed for and used by the Dutch Ministry of Internal Affairs.– Creating a product roadmap that aligned strategy with client and user needs through close collaboration with all stakeholders and team members.
