This role gave me invaluable experience in areas such as timekeeping, data entry and collection, and communication. I worked in areas all over the racecourse and exchanged with an extensive range of employees such as managers and heads of security, to cleaners and bar staff. My role was to make sure that all employees were familiar with the 'Ascot Way', which is a guidance document on how to provide excellent customer service and make every moment count for our guests each day. This role also included ensuring that all employees knew and understood the extremely important safety and evacuation information, along with the location of their welfare areas and gaining feedback on whether or not there were any suggestions as to how Ascot could improve in caring for its employees. High intensity work. Working in the Royal Enclosure, dealing with guests expecting the very best in service. High volume of sales, Stock checking and money handling, as well as providing customers with unparalleled knowledge on the racecourse and assistance. Success in this role down to taking the time to learn and revise the information about the racecourse previously, helping to cope with pressure when it inevitably came. High intensity work.
