While studying for my degree I reported on a wide range of stories for Mancunian Matters, with more than 55 published articles, mostly focused on the culture beat in Manchester. Worked as part of a team producing packages for a live TV broadcast during the 2019 general election. Covering culture in Manchester involved interviewing film and theatre directors, writing reviews and covering gigs. Notable interviews include film critic Mark Kermode, award-winning documentary maker Sean McAllister and BAFTA and Turner Prize nominee Richard Billingham, interviews I sourced myself. I reported reviews from multiple film festivals in 2019, including London, Manchester, FilmFear and Cannes, a trip I arranged and funded on my own, making contacts to secure accommodation, travel and future opportunities. Having had golf lessons here from the age of four, I did my secondary school work experience in the shop and was offered a job as Pro Shop Assistant straight after, assisting with driving range maintenance, club repairs and the general smooth running of the shop. This required strong knowledge of the game, technically and culturally, to have the knowledge to recommend products to customers, assist with queries regarding their game and be able to interact with members and visitors. I also assisted the Club Pro with junior lessons throughout the summer months. Show less

Disorder & Desire is a DIY not-for-profit magazine which I started from my bedroom in early 2017. It focused on punk, politics and art and gave me an opportunity to hone my writing skills and gain experience in skills such as marketing, design and selling. The first edition was published on May 30th 2017, and quickly sold out, with 2 stockists taking copies of the magazine. I completed two weeks work experience, working on both news and sport online. I had over 20 articles published over the two weeks, and became proficient in WordPress and various other skills. This was my first experience in a newsroom and only increased my passion for writing and journalism. I completed two weeks work experience, working on both news and sport online.
