I am the chemist for the chemical cleaning division of Wastewater Specialties. We clean industrial equipment using different combinations of chemicals depending on the type of system. I work on procedure development and review, which includes choosing or confirming the proper chemicals, temperatures, flow rates, contact time, and the many other variables that need to be detailed to have field personnel successfully clean the equipment. I work on job bidding/quotes. This includes going to bid meetings, job walks, research, and the other aspects involved needed to produce a competitive bid that will be profitable. The bid packages include: personnel, chemical, and equipment requirements, generic procedure, estimated duration, plant responsibilities, and other aspects. I have worked on chemical circulations, vapor phase (chemical based steam cleaning), 3d nozzle circulations, and others. I have planned acid washing of many types of scale, vessel decontamination (from hydrocarbons to NaSH), vessel and spill neutralization, many passivations of various vessels and piping, and a lot of other applicable projects. I work as a field supervisor as well which helps gain first-hand experience needed to have a strong grasp on the management side of projects and personnel. I maintain the lab and field equipment such as pH meters, titration kits, and colorimeters. I take in customer samples and determine the chemicals and amounts to use in the field to chemically clean their vessel. I am knowledgeable about the compatibilities of typical industrial chemicals with the metallurgy of customer equipment and residual chemicals. I expect to continue on in the industry and learn more as I go. Show less

Tour Supply is a music equipment supplier for professionally touring bands. I started working here doing shipping and receiving, shop upkeep, and general labor. I learned the items the company sold and eventually took over managing the shop when an opening came available. I was in charge of taking orders and making sure they made it to the right place on time. I knew the products well and did purchasing for the Nashville location. I trained new employees on using quickbooks and the products the company sold. I managed the office and service line for gear repairs. I also kept up customer and vendor relations. Show less
