Sandwich Maker
-
Apr 2019 - Aug 2019
Sandwich artist Subway - Brighton April 2019 - August 2019 Here are some skills I acquired in this role. Fast learning: If there was one skill I learned most about in this job was the need to pick things up quickly. From day one I was serving customers and without any formal training it was learning by doing. Paying attention: To be able to do this is a standard skill but communicating with customers while executing orders made it a challenge in the beginning. Working under pressure: A queue of customers whose wait time depends on your ability to work quickly definitely added pressure which I had to overcome. I must admit I did not expect to learn so much from working at Subway but I am glad I took on this summer job. Show less

Manual Labourer
-
Apr 2016 - Jul 2017
Ideal Work is a flooring company for whom I worked as a manual labourer on various building sites. Here are some of the skills I acquired: Adapting: The job involved travelling between multiple sites which required me to adapt to new environments constantly. For example, at some sites I needed to lay down a tarpaulin (Waterproof material) if we were working on a surface that could not be damaged and others not. Maintaining a standard: Consistency was vital in all day to day tasks in order to be time efficient and please our clients. Meeting deadlines: Each job had a deadline and it was critical they were always met. This involved lots of group planning and a dedication to work over time. Sometimes even an ability to work under pressure. Show less

Work Experience program

Jun 2016 - Jun 2016
In this brief work experience programme I was involved with the loaning department at Lloyds Bank. It taught me about the loaning process and the intricacies which define whether or not different individuals are eligible to borrow. I was also fun to observe the office environment.
