Harry was investigating the use of advanced computational methods to simulate the large deformation behaviour of retaining wall structures during earthquake events. Harry’s research was focussing on the the use of the Coupled Eulerian Lagrangian Finite Element Method for large deformation analysis coupled with an advanced critical state two surface plasticity constitutive model for sands to capture the soil behaviour during dynamic loading.
