      ● Underground production geology, responsible for the mapping of faces, backs and development drives. ● Designating grades to headings using all available data; such as previous assay, drill hole database, and adjacent development drives. ● Sampling of all active headings and points of interest. ● Daily use of Surpac. ● Ensure minimum dilution and maximum recovery, through the correct positioning of the lode, in preparation for stoping. ● Responsible for core logging, preparation, and sampling of both grade control and exploration core. In a quartz/sulphide-hosted narrow vein gold deposit. ● Took responsibility for the open pit; including channel sampling, ore model generation, spotting and production tracking. ● Gained a strong belief in the absolute importance of correct, clean complete data in the database.

      • RC rig supervision, which included: -The geological logging of chips with the focus on recording the oxidation profile, ore zone and other features of note. – It also involved sampling, to ensure the correct recording of samples. • Proficient in the use of LogChief, and basic level of Surpac, which included designing ore blocks. • Spotting ore to ensure the digger operators are facing ore blocks up correctly and are not introducing external dilution. Also enables over digging of ore blocks were mineralisation clearly continues. • Pit mapping is also completed to ensure wire frame reflects true mineralisation. • Responsible for ensuring blast crews have installed BVIs and survey have picked up the blast movement, prior to ore mark up. • Also volunteer as a member of the Emergency Response Team.

    • Masters Dissertation: Optimisation of Blast Hole Sampling
      • 2017 - 2017

Optimisation of blast hole sampling for grade control and cost reduction using geostatistics. Analysis of 607 drill holes across 6 km2, using ISATIS, ioGAS, excel and SPSS, to domain and estimate. Interpolation methods include ordinary kriging and sequential Gaussian simulation. Generated block models to test and scrutinise interpolations. Developed a measure of geological uncertainty to help understand the risk/ cost of different drill hole spacing. • Geological Mapping
      • Jun 2013 - Jul 2013

Independent geological mapping entitled: The Geological Evolution of the Area East of Villamanin North West Spain. Completion of the study evolved the planning and organisation of the 25 km2 area, enabling the production of a 1:10,000 scale geological map from first principles. This project was in remote NW Spain in the region of Castilla y León. This gave me detailed exposure of geological formations and structures in a Palaeozoic succession of quartzite, shale and limestone. Efficient completion of this study whilst camping in an isolated environment is proof of my ability to adapt and thrive off the beaten track. I gained confidence and precision in detailed geological mapping and experienced working in hot climatic conditions.
