I have successfully completed numerous research and development projects in conjunction with many leading industry manufacturers as well as my own personal patents and other products. At NRG Awareness we continue to develop innovative techniques to improve heating technology and system strategies but of late with a focus on training courses for the heating industry at large. Through this record, we found that our products had taken on an international appeal as many of our clients ask to use our services outside Ireland. One such company was the US company SeaBox (Intermodal Concepts) established in 1983. We worked on the worker accommodation segment of a dam-building project in Patagonia for a Chinese client. Soon after, we became aware that SeaBox had a huge interest in providing containerised intermodal solutions including Intermodal Boiler Houses, Data Centres and other modular solutions. Following our interactions, we decided that we should become part of the US company to develop a more international market as well as be part of the SeaBox Group advancement. Since that date, both my son David and I have worked on the development of the market for the established products in our portfolio and continue to develop new products and training courses for the heating industry with some fascinating additional web-based controls and other innovations soon to come on the scene. I am currently involved with the National Standard the Authority of Ireland (NSAI) in the creation of installation guidelines which are to be the core of new regulations for central heating installations with a focus on system safety as well as system and fuel efficiencies. One of the most successful areas that allowed us to utilise the knowledge and skills gained over the years was the hospital, nursing home sector with multiple examples of fuel reduction in the generation of Domestic Hot Water often exceeding 50% savings and heating costs consistently being lowered by a factor of 35-45% and more. A further development was the invention of the NRG Link product, a very simple, yet highly effective system inter-linking solution from NRG Awareness, used to interconnect open solid fuel systems to sealed heating systems in a patented and uniquely safe way.

  I moved to South West Australia in 1978. Worked with Transfield with responsibility for the significant water main installation, the plumbing and drainage contracts as well as the power ducting network throughout the entire site during the construction of the Muja Power Station at Collie W.A. Responsible for the construction of the sewage treatment plant in preparation for the 1000 plus employment stage at the station. I moved to South West Australia in 1978. Worked with Transfield with responsibility for the significant water main installation, the plumbing and drainage contracts as well as the power ducting network throughout the entire site during the construction of the Muja Power Station at Collie W.A. Responsible for the construction of the sewage treatment plant in preparation for the 1000 plus employment stage at the station.
