Technical Lead for Satellite Derived Bathymetry (SDB) responsible for the management, research and development of physics-based models to derive seabed depth through optical satellite data. This work aims to advance the accuracy of current navigational charts in coastal areas in conjunction with an analysis and monitoring of coastal change from space.This work has given me experience with a range of different sensors both commercial and open source as well as passive and active sensors notably (Sentinel-1/2, Landsat, WorldView, SPOT 6 and Pleiades).Further competencies have been demonstrated through providing additional capacity on the following projects:*Developing machine learning classification strategies to assess changes to UK saltmarsh coverage.*Implementing earth observation techniques in the identification and tracking of marine plastic litter in the Black Sea.*Supervised internal research projects investigating the presence of unregulated deforestation in the Amazon rainforest through data fusion of Sentinel-1 & Sentinel-2.*Developing methodologies to integrate coastal erosion products to services which model vulnerability.

A three month junior support position working on quality control of European Space Agency satellite data. During this time, my work specifically focused on the validation of processor updates to the SMOS satellite. This required the comparison of Sea Surface Salinity data stored in netcdf files using python packages NumPy, Matplotlib & Pandas.
